The edges, the hood, the tires, the interior, the feel! It's so sleek and clean! Let's get this thing on the road and let this baby breathe!!īut 5 seconds after ignition you only go like 10mph with horrible acceleration and nowhere near the horsepower you'd expect from such a nice car. Man, that sports car you have looks bodacious! Jesus I mean look at it. I think playing a $600 guitar through a $150 amp is the equivalent of having a souped-up sports car with a engine in it that's from a 1990's Honda Civic. I don't think that "spend as much as you can" is acceptable in this case. The Mustang amps are really nice as well and so customizable if you take the time to learn how they work. The Classic Vibe guitars are really nice instruments. I have the Mustang III and have gigged with it before and it performed just fine. He plays the Classic Vibe 60's Strat (bone stock with no mods) as his main guitar. I have a good friend who plays pro and opens for name acts. Yes, there are other fine selections suggested here as well but you will be hard-pressed to find a better combination for a beginner. The person here who suggested the Squire Classic Vibe 60's Strat and the Mustang II amp has given you your best advice. The Strat neck feels perfect in my hand though. I have a Les Paul with the thick baseball bat neck that is easy to play to. ![]() I have a 24" scale Jaguar as well and it is OK but the longer scale Strat is easier for me to play. ![]() Next would be my Squire Classic Vibe Telecaster. With my super small hands, my MIM Strat feels best in my hand and is easiest to play. It is all neck size (width and thickness). The scale length really doesn't have much to do with it. I've only been taking lessons for 3 weeks, and my teacher just says to "spend as much as you can". I don't know if what I practice on the short-scale will transfer onto my standard sized acoustic. I feel like I'd play it more, if I liked the look of my guitar, no? The dilemma is that the color I really want, Canary Diamond, comes in the HS model instead. I am most drawn to the Duo-Sonic single coils because I don't think I'd need the humbucker for the kind of music I like. I do not want to spend more than $600, as this will be my first electric, but I also want something I won't outgrow too soon. Which one do you recommend for a beginner with small hands/frame? As for the amp, I'll probably go with the Boss Katana 50 as recommended by many :) Thank you all for your kind posts! I am headed to a Guitar Center to hold and feel them. So I think I'll go with the MIM Standard! I haven't ordered it yet, but just the thought of it makes me feel excited about playing! Since my ears aren't refined enough to tell any differences in sound, even the more expensive strats felt the same, except for the ones with a V-neck. I tried the Squier Classic Vibe, too, but I just can't get past the color options. ![]() I don't exactly know what, but I liked how the Standard felt much better than the Duo-Sonic. They didn't have Squier Deluxe Strat in stock, but I just tried out everything that appealed to me. I'm happy with my new guitar and amp! Thank you for your input, everyone!įender Standard Stratocaster and Boss KTN-50 ![]()
